M18A1 Gas Filter

The M18A1 removes toxic chemical agents in vapor or gaseous forms. Used in conjunction with the M19 HEPA (particulate) filter and M1A1-19 blower system (M13A1), this filter canister is an ideal choice for meeting collective protection or individual distribution needs.

HDT's M18A1 gas filter utilizes ASZM-TEDA 12 x 30 activated carbon to remove gaseous toxic agents from the air. The filter is housed in a thin steel housing and fitted with smooth hose adapters. They are commonly used in the M13A1 gas particulate filter unit (GPFU) and can be found in virtually all classes of combat and tactical vehicles. The M18A1 is a radial flow filter canister that is self-enclosed for minimum exposure during filter replacement. Flow through the filter is from the outer diameter of the filter bed through the carbon bed into the inner tube and out through the filter outlet. The filter's long body versus its small diameter allows for a relative low-pressure drop (1.7 IWG maximum) across the filter.

HDT manufactures its chemical biological filters in tightly controlled production lots to ensure quality. Each production lot of filters is sample-tested with live agents to confirm filter carbon reliability.
