FFA1000-100/200
The FFA1000-100/200 is designed to remove toxic chemical and biological warfare agents in gaseous (vapor) and aerosol (particulate) forms from the airstream, while providing a toxic-free environment to personnel or equipment by creating positive pressure in the toxic-free area (TFA).
- 1000-cfm airflow with manual flow control
- High airflow for permanent installation or large transportable shelters
- All-weather, stackable, modular design
- Uses standard M98, 200-cfm filter sets NSN 4240-01-369-6533 (5 per system)
HDT's FFA1000 is an all-weather, transportable, positive-pressure nuclear, biological and chemical (NBC) filtration system that can provide up to 1000-cfm of clean, safe, breathable air for permanent or semi-permanent transportable shelters.
The FFA1000-100 version consists of a motor fan assembly, a filter housing with five M98, 200-cfm gas and particulate filter sets and a frame assembly, making the system self-supported and easily transportable. Its rated airflow of 1000-cfm may be adjusted by means of a manual flow control valve located on the blower inlet. Multiple units can be stacked and nested to create a large air supply unit with multiple air sources.
The FFA1000-200 version includes the filter housing and hosing support only — making it a modular unit that can be stacked and nested to create a large-capacity filtration unit (see Figure A). The nested assembly can then be supplied with air from a single source. The small size and light weight of the FFA1000-200 allows for easy maneuverability by two people and can be carried into a building and through standard (30") doors. These features allow the installation of a large-capacity system without the use of cranes or special equipment. The skidless and frameless construction allows the FFA1000-200 to be configured in various ways. For example, two housings could be connected by the outlet (making one outlet an actual inlet — see Figure B) and the system configured as per the CHEM-DEMIL standard reverse-redundant filters (HEPA-GAS-GAS-HEPA), increasing total residence time to near 0.4 seconds.
The FFA1000 and its variations have been implemented into various government buildings, military and civilian facilities in the U.S. and around the world.
